A Short Trip to Kuala Terengganu / Dungun

Assalamualaikum,

It has been a while since the last time I wrote about my travelog. Paling terakhir rasanya tentang my second visit to Singapore early January haritu. So, I was in desperate need of a short vacation to let off some steam, really.

As some of you might know, my job requires me to travel a lot. It is fun doing what I do, sebab I get paid to discover new places and seeing the variety of cultures of penduduk tempatan. Last weekend, I was in Kuantan. Kuantan is not a strange place to me, so tak de ape nak diceritakan sangat.

Since it was Friday, I thought it would be good idea untuk bercuti/pay my sister a visit in Dungun. And so, the impromptu plan was executed.

I was earlier suggested to take the LPT2 tu Dungun tapi waze mencadangkan ikut Jalan Jabor - Jerangau would save around 30mins. So I followed Waze. Perjalanan bersendirian melalui felda kelapa sawit itu sangat la scary sebenarnya tapi seronok rasanya dapat mencabar diri macam tu. I started my journey around 4.30 and reached UiTM Bukit Besi dalam 5.30 (note that Jabor - Bukit Besi lagi dekat dari Jabor - Dungun).

Sesampai kat UiTM, my sister was excited to see me. Ye lah, berbulan tak jumpa kan?

I spent the night illegally in her dorm before we started the journey early to guess what, we decided esok paginya, to visit Kuala Terengganu. Taking the LPT2 from Bukit Besi to Kuala Terengganu cuma satu jam. Highway tak de kereta, takde tol (at moment this post is up), the journey was a breeze and we were loving it.

I have previously visited KT. Niat kali ni nak bawak sister berjalan-jalan so I took her to Pantai Batu Burok and initially thought later nak bawak dia ke Taman Tamadun Islam, tapi tersasar ke Muzium Negeri Kuala Terengganu. Semua perjalanan kami ni bergantung harap kat Waze semata-mata.

We just love the beach.

And then on the way nak pegi Taman Tamadun Islam, sister nampak Muzium Negeri and ada exhibition yang best tentang organ manusia. So we ditch nak pegi Taman Tamadun Islam and spent the morning in the museum. Unlike most people, kami sukakan muzium. I remember my date dengan boyfriend di Muzium Negara was hell sebab dia tak enjoy muzium langsung. Boring katanya. Dengan bayaran RM5.00 untuk seorang dewasa, I think it was worth of the entrance fee sebab ada organ exhibition tu. One thing for sure, the architecture of the museum memang terbaik! Sangat cantik. I didnt take any photos here at the Museum sebab tak rasa macam nak bergambar, hehe. Sebenarnya tak boleh ambil gambar kat exhibition ni tapi gambar baby cyclops ni macam menarik sangat, so bedal je lah. Semua barang-barang display ni 95% adalah real organs and real human tissue.

I am sorry, I dont know the name) before driving back to Dungun.

Berpandukan Waze, kami melalui Jalan Kuala Terengganu - Dungun instead of Lebuhraya Pantai Timur 2 dan sepanjang perjalanan tu, kami lalu di persisiran pantai.

Dari KT ke Dungun took about 30 - 40 mins and I took the risk not to book any hotel. Gamble kan. Sesampai kat Dungun, kami cari Cool Blog. Haaa kenapa Cool Blog? Cool Blog ni special sebab Cool Blog ni bakal adik ipar punya. Actually I am a bit confused. Dia pangkat adik ipar sebab I am marrying his big brother tapi he is actually older than me. Saje pay them a surprise visit gitu. Memang surprise sungguh. Location kedai ni betul-betul depan gate besar Politeknik Dungun. Datang la jengah memana student Poli tu ye?

Muehehehehe

Waktu malam di Dungun sangat best. For a small town, I didn't expect it would be so meriah. Pekan dia hidup waktu malam. Malam tu kami keluar makan kat Marry Brown, pusing-pusing area pekan, shopping apepe yang patut and then tuck in early sebab esok I need to drive all the way to KL after dropping my sister kat UiTM Dungun for her debate tournament.

Perjalanan to KL via LPT2 took only 3.5 hour from Dungun. Rasa macam setiap minggu pun boleh pegi Dungun cem ni.

So, itulah dianya pengembaraan KL - Kuantan - Dungun versi lone ranger.

It was actually  my mission to drive my Myvi in KT. Sister asked "how is it significant to you having such ambition?". My answer is "I like to challenge myself that way" and berapa ramai perempuan kat luar sana yang boleh drive pusing pusing keliling pantai timur sorang-sorang cem ni? Ada tapi tak ramai. I take pride in being my own hero. Mom was proud, too. She was very surprised when sister and I called her from Dungun.

Next challenge, tak tahu lagi. So far belum ada ape-ape.

Until then, have a great week.

Byebye.
